Registered Massage Therapists (RMT's) in British Columbia are health care professionals commited to restoring and maintaining optimal health and pain-free function of the body. RMT's are educated and trained to accurately assess and treat with techniques that include massage, manual therapy, joint mobilization, hydrotherapy, and rehabilitative exercise such as stretching, strenthening, postural exercise and patient education. Massage Therapy is an effective approach to pain management and rehabilitation. RMT's are effective in treating and providing relief for a wide range of conditions such as migraine headaches, tendonitis, arthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, sports injuries, as well as many other common conditions related to soft tissue and joint dysfunction.

Julie graduated from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in December 2011 and successfully completed the CMTBC board exam in March 2012, earning her registration and maintaining it in good standing ever since. She began her career in multidisciplinary clinics across the Lower Mainland, where she had the opportunity to treat a wide variety of clients while collaborating with physiotherapists, kinesiologists, chiropractors, and other RMTs. This early experience shaped her integrative approach, combining clinical knowledge with a client-centered perspective.

Her treatments are guided by a holistic philosophy, starting with a thorough assessment to design a personalized treatment plan tailored to each client’s unique needs. Julie’s style is often described as fluid and intuitive, blending Swedish massage for stress relief with more therapeutic techniques such as myofascial release, deep tissue massage, ischemic compressions, joint mobilization, and targeted stretching to focus in on more specific areas of concern.

She has supported clients through a wide range of cases including chronic headaches, postural imbalances, overuse injuries, tendonitis, nerve impingements, sports injuries, sprains, whiplash, throasic outlet syndrome, carpal tunnel, bursitis, plantar fasciitis, migraines, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, disc herniations and bulging discs, post surgical rehabilitation, hip and knee replacements, sciatica, constipation, arthritis, strains, pregnancy related discomforts, scar tissue rehabilitation, arthritis, fascial restrictions, TMJ disfunction, scoliosis, MS, stress and anxiety management. To extend the benefits beyond the clinic, she often incorporates home care strategies—ranging from stretching and strengthening exercises to posture awareness, lifestyle guidance, heat or cold therapy, and sports taping.

Julie has a special interest in scar tissue therapy, understanding that scars often carry both physical challenges and emotional weight. She approaches each client with care and respect, honoring the unique story behind every scar while helping them find greater comfort, ease, and confidence in their healing journey.

As both a registered massage therapist and a breast cancer survivor who has undergone a double mastectomy with lymph node removal, Julie brings a unique blend of professional expertise and personal understanding to her practice. She knows firsthand how daunting and overwhelming recovery can feel, and she is dedicated to guiding her clients with empathy, knowledge, and encouragement through each stage of the healing process—whether from surgery, injury, or illness.

Massage therapy can play a powerful role in scar rehabilitation, helping to reduce swelling, edema, adhesions, and restrictions while improving mobility, tissue health, and overall function. Beyond these physical benefits, Julie’s treatments also nurture emotional well-being—offering relief from stress, fostering reconnection with the body, and create space to release emotions often woven into the scars.

Her goal is to empower each client with renewed confidence, greater ease of movement, and a stronger sense of connection to themselves as they move forward in their healing journey.

From a holistic standpoint, Julie incorporates full-body treatments as needed depending on the case, addressing areas such as the back, neck, hips, legs, arms, feet, hands, and scalp. Full-body massage offers a comprehensive therapeutic approach that extends beyond relaxation. By enhancing somatic awareness and supporting a regulated nervous system, it can reduce pain, improve functional mobility, promote emotional stability, and strengthen the overall mind–body connection.

On a more personal note, Julie finds joy and balance in the beauty of nature. Weekends often lead her to the trails for a good hike, the shoreline for beachcombing, or the forest for mushroom foraging and nature photography. She loves thrift shopping and discovering treasures to use in creative crafts. When she’s not outdoors, she can be found curled up watching a movie with her senior cat or working on some kind of art project, always something on the go.

I knew at a young age that I wanted to be in the health care profession. While in school for my Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology I injured my back and almost quit swimming with my university team due to the pain. Chiropractic was what got me back training and in the pool again. I graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University with my Doctorate in Chiropractic in 2007. I furthered my education and began to treat animals in 2018 after completing my Animal Chiropractic through the Veterinary Chiropractic Leaning Center. I am also certified by the College of Animal Chiropractors.

Whether you are a human or a horse patient, a typical visit with me will include muscle and fascia work using a variety of techniques including Graston Technique, FAKTR and active release, as well as any necessary adjustments, stretches and exercises to help correct the underlying problem.

When I am not working I like to travel and spend time with family. I am an active, fun loving person and I try to live the lifestyle that I encourage my patients to have. I enjoy paddle boarding, boxing, Muay Thai, yoga and running. I have worked on multiple professional athletes in the past including UFC fighters, professional boxers and a professional lacrosse team.

I look forward to being a part of your team and help you achieve your goals whether that be competing at a professional level or just being able to do your daily activities pain free.
